Ceol for the Soul is an EP of classic Irish material, interpreting songs by some of my most influential and important artists.

Danny: "There are so many great Irish songs from different genres - folk, rock, pop and traditional Irish music. I've put a neo-soul twist on some of my favourites, whilst also getting back to my traditional roots (I play the Irish flute and/or tin whistle on 4/5 tracks). Some of these songs are well-known, from Samantha Mumba & Paul Brady. I've also covered some less-well-known cuts from The Bothy Band, Thin Lizzy & Van Morrison. All 5 are so rich and full of soul, and to my ears are already soul songs."

For our non-Irish friends, 'ceol' is the Irish word for 'music' and is phonetically pronounced 'key-ol'.

Track 4 features Richard Farrell on vocals and Danny Groenland on flute. Track 5 features Danny Groenland on flute, tinwhistle & low whistle.

Tracks 1 & 3 recorded remotely. Track 1 features vocals and beat by Danny Groenland. Track 3 features vocals and beat by Danny Groenland, vocals from Sive, and keys from Johnny Taylor.
